API Centric: APIs + .NET

Helping teams and organizations design, develop and deliver better APIs faster.

Move fast, avoid breaking things, using a collaborative, risk-driven and value-oriented approach. Technology-agnostic on the design side, focused on .NET on the implementation side.

Why?

APIs are forever

They are, in a way...While APIs, and in particular REST-style APIs, are easy to build, they’re not as easy to change as UIs.Once in production, modifying an API can break integrations with third-party systems, forcing teams to maintain multiple versions which can become expensive. Convincing consumers to migrate to a new version is equally challenging, since integration is expensive. The risk when building an API is not as much in the implementation, but in getting the design of the API wrong.

HOW?

Collaborative, risk-driven, value-oriented

One of the biggest risks when building an API is not fully understanding core stakeholder expectations and requirements before starting. Another one is not taking the time for API design and specification and jumping straight into development. The risk is not only in building the wrong API, but also in overlooking security and other cross-functional requirements, and building an insecure API that does not meet the anticipated quality requirements. That is why we focus on requirements. And on design. But also on automated testing and getting version 0.1 into production as early as possible.
